Did you know that raising feedback or concerns with your aged care provider first is often the easiest and quickest way to resolve issues?

Everyone receiving aged care services has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

If you're worried about the quality of the aged care services you or someone else is receiving, you can speak up. If you find it difficult to speak up on your own, you can ask the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission for help. We can help you raise or resolve a complaint.

Read our Top tips for making a complaint πŸ”— https://www.agedcarequality.gov.au/resource-library/top-tips-raising-concern or visit agedcarequality.gov.au for more information on how to raise a complaint.

Safe, quality aged care is your right.

As an older person receiving government-funded aged care – either in your own home or in an aged care home – you have rights. The Statement of Rights, which is included in the Act, gives you the right to speak up, to be treated with respect, and to make choices about your aged care. Providers and aged care workers are legally obliged to deliver services in line with these rights.

Enshrined in the Statement of Rights is your right to support and social connections, but what does this mean?
You can maintain your connection with family, friends, pets, culture and advocates. For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, this includes Connection to Country and Island Home.

If you feel that your rights are not being upheld, contact the Aged Care Advocacy Line on 1800 700 600
