Sir Richard Bishop returns to Australia for the first time in 20 years this October.
A founding member of the legendary Sun City Girls, Bishop has spent more than forty years exploring the outer reaches of folk, improvisation, psychedelia and global musical traditions. His solo work has drawn international acclaim for its virtuosic guitar playing, adventurous spirit and singular musical vision.
Renowned for performances that balance intricate composition with fearless spontaneity, Bishop remains one of the most restless and original voices in underground music. No two shows are alike, each unfolding as its own exploration of sound, place and possibility.
Across four nights only, and fresh off the back of the release of his new album Hillbilly Erotica (out 31 July via Drag City), Australian audiences have the chance to experience one of experimental music’s most celebrated guitarists up close.
