Hey there! I welcomed some new followers on Instagram overnight as a result of ‘The Happy Gardening Life’ sharing a pic of our , so did a little intro to officially say hi which I thought I’d share here too!
This is me, Sally, in a rare moment (15 mins to be precise! 😂) of presentability because of a client Skype call. Rest assured once the call was done, the makeup came straight off, old T-shirt went back on, and all was right with the world! , am I right, Healthy Natty?! 😉
Seriously, I really am happiest at home, either writing my little heart out, head in a book, or fingers in the dirt.
A few other random things about me:
1. After too many years commuting to the city and spending my days in a corporate high rise, I threw myself into the ether of self-employment as a freelance copywriter and haven’t looked back. You can find my home by following the link in my bio.
2. I’ve been married to my darling husband for coming up 4 years ( ⏱😱). We are complete opposites in many ways and yet somehow fit perfectly together. What connects us most is our love of family and the simple things in life. Oh, and motorsport. 🏎😉
3. One of our simple loves is camping and adventure, so naturally we drove from Melbourne to Darwin and back again for our honeymoon. A lazy 10,000+kms in 4 weeks, as you do! Those were some of the BEST days of our lives. Get a glimpse on insta at .
4. My favourite colour is grey. My husband says that’s a totally bland choice; I say sensible and sophisticated. 😉 See: opposites.
5. My mum is my hero and I admire her more than anyone in the world.
6. My sister is my best friend and we can pretty much communicate telepathically (I’m not kidding).
7. Other than home, my favourite places are the Dandenongs, the library, and any open country road.
8. My favourite podcast is Slow Your Home and I’m currently obsessed with all things Esther Perel.
9. One of my favourite quotes is ‘The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes’ by renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. Last year (the hardest year of my life) really tested this belief, so much so that I deleted the quote from my insta bio in a moment of despair. And yet, slowly, slowly, I’m understanding that it still holds true. For me, the quote speaks to the journey of life opening our eyes to greater insight, compassion, and love. And what better way to open our eyes and grow than travelling all the way to hell and finding our way back to the light?
10. When I’m old and grey, I hope I can say that I was present, grateful, and kind in the little moments that make a life. Most of all, I hope I can say that I was free - and reminded others to be the same. 💫
