🚨 VICTORIA’S PROPOSED AUCTION LAW CHANGES — WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

There’s been plenty of conversation around the proposed changes to Victorian auction laws, but as it stands, they are not yet law.

There are still details to be finalised and some important practical questions around how the changes would work in real-world auction scenarios.

At EYS Auctions - Independent Auctioneers , we’re watching it closely.

And while we welcome greater transparency, we remain firmly of the belief that auction is one of the most transparent and competitive ways to sell property.
Why?

🔨 Genuine buyer competition
🔨 Unconditional contracts
🔨 No cooling-off period
🔨 A transparent, competitive environment
🔨 The market ultimately determining the price

And if a private sale can advertise a single price from day one and achieve a successful result, EYS is confident an auction can do the same by week three — with the added benefit of an unconditional sale.

So for now… let’s wait and see what the final legislation looks like.

We’ll keep you updated as it progresses.

The industry is evolving. We’re staying ahead of it.

🔔 The auction bell is a tradition that dates back to the early days of Australian property auctions, when it was used to gather the crowd and signal the official start of proceedings.

Today, whether it’s rung or not, every auction has its own rhythm. It’s the auctioneer who sets the tone builds the energy and brings everyone together for that moment when the bidding begins.
