The conversation has exploded after the controversy on Married At First Sight around the idea of a “submissive” partner.

I was recently asked to contribute to a Herald Sun article discussing the debate and what relationship experts are seeing in real life.

Through my work as the founder of Love with Me, I shared that while clients are not asking for “submissive” partners, many people are seeking something much simpler.

“People are going back to those traditional values of monogamy, commitment and human connection.”

In a world of dating apps, endless swiping and social media influence, many singles are actually craving something that feels more grounded — a genuine partnership and a stable future with someone.

Reality TV can create headlines, but real relationships are built on something far more important: Mutual respect; Shared values; Emotional maturity.

It was great to contribute to the discussion and bring a matchmaking perspective to the conversation.

The truth is, many singles have tried dating apps and other options— and they’re exhausted. What’s missing isn’t effort… it’s guidance.
