Spending time at a service utilising a safeguarding lens requires me to assess the degree to which educators consider childrens dignity, rights, agency to nurture wellbeing - many things contribute to the culture of safety. This new service Bayswater have a team that have no doubt carefully considered their environments and the interactions within each space. To have an inclusive, nurturing vibe this early is remarkable and it is clear the intentionality by every team member has childrens best interests at the forefront of thinking. The paramountcy principle is certainly evident at this service. What a joy this visit was 👏

Trauma informed leadership and reflective supervision - couldn’t love this article more by Child Australia CEO Tina Holtom 🙌

💡 Did you know? Trauma-informed leadership isn’t about lowering expectations or “being soft.” It’s about creating psychologically safe workplaces where educators feel supported, regulated and able to do their best work... because children thrive when the adults around them feel safe and supported too.

Thank you to ACECQA for featuring an article contributed by our CEO Tina Holtom in their latest newsletter, exploring the importance of trauma-informed leadership in the ECEC sector. 🤗

As the sector continues to navigate ongoing reform, increasing complexity and workforce pressures, leadership matters more than ever. Trauma-informed leadership encourages us to shift from asking “What’s wrong?” to “What’s happening?”, fostering reflective cultures grounded in trust, wellbeing and connection.

So looking forward to this!!!

Talarico Consulting Early Years Consultant and I are so pleased to have the opportunity to present at the National Education Summit in Melbourne later in the year.

For quite a while now we have talked about the undeniable connection between Jools' theory of Professional Love and Child Safety, so we're excited to be able to share some of this dialogue with a wider audience.

At a time of heightened scrutiny on the ECEC sector, where everyday decisions are being deeply questioned, and stress feels to be at an all time high, we dont believe stepping away from Professional Love is the answer - we believe it is part of the remedy, and what will ultimately lead us to creating genuinely safer communities for children, families and educators.

We'd love to have you join us in this discussion. Comment below!
