High Score game audio conference is thrilled to announce the first key speakers for the landmark 10th edition of the event this October 3-4 at Melbourne International Games Week.

👾 BAFTA-nominated Hollow Knight composer and sound designer, Christopher Larkin

👾 Helldivers 2 and Mortal Kombat composer Wilbert Roget II

👾 Head of Music at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, Duncan Smith

Together, the first three speakers span the breadth of contemporary game audio, from worldbuilding through music and sound, to scoring blockbuster franchises and the creative partnerships that take a AAA soundtrack from its first idea to the finished game.

🙏🏼2026 also marks the first High Score program curated by Meena Shamaly, a composer, session musician and host of ABC Classic’s Game Show, while award-winning broadcaster Angharad ‘Rad’ Yeo also returns as MC.

Music Australia and the High Score team welcome the voice and experiences of game audio enthusiasts from across Australia at our game audio conference on Oct 3-4, but recognise that cash flow can be a barrier to attendance.

A limited amount of travel bursaries are now available to assist those in regional, remote and under-represented communities.

Applicants can apply for one of three levels of support:

✈️ $500 (your home is less than 500km from Fed Square, Melbourne)
✈️ $1500 (your home is between 501km and 1500km from Fed Square, Melbourne)
✈️ $2000 (your home is over 1500km from Fed Square, Melbourne)

Funds can cover food, travel and accommodation.

Our new Experts In Residence program is here!

VMDO have teamed up with Viv Fantin - Next Act Coaching to provide four music industry professionals with access to "Creating Possibility in Uncertain Times", a four-session program of one-on-ones with music industry personal coach Viv Fantin.

This is a focused coaching series for music industry professionals, focussed on shifting the conversation towards agency, adaptability and hope without ignoring the genuine realities people in our industry are experiencing.

💻Sessions will take place over Zoom, roughly fortnightly throughout September, October and November.
