Thank you to for selecting me to be amongst the Top 100 women in Construction 2026 🩶

The stories we hold as women are heard to hear and some have left battle scars, but through inner strength, we have managed to stay resilient and get back up for another day.

I used to talk about my experience openly to anyone that would listen, but it made me feel stuck. Served no purpose.

Over the years, I have learnt to keep moving forward.

If there was a place, I wasn’t “safe”, I would leave.

If companies disrespected me or other women, I would leave. Eventually I decided (20 years ago), I would work for myself and choose where I would stay and for how long.

Amongst the evil, there are many men that support women in construction, and we see them and their actions. They stand up for us, they literally stand in front of us and shield us, even though I’ve learnt to do it myself over the years.

And then there are the woman that understand without any words exchanged. We know what it’s like.

If I could share my stories one day, I will do it from a place of empowerment. Might do that podcast, I’ve been meaning to do.

I have always given feedback to staff, instantly. How else do employees learn? If they need further training, make the time and develop the team.

Whenever I travel for work, I rarely relax. Why do we do that to ourselves? What’s the point in working day and night and not actually enjoying the journey.
