Lane change vs. zip merge: what’s the difference?

Lane change merge:

✔️ Marked by a broken white line
✔️The driver in the lane ending (Car B) must give way to the driver in the lane they are moving into (Car A)
✔️Mostly found on freeway on ramps and high-speed roads

Zip merge:

✔️No pavement lines where lanes merge
✔️The driver ahead (Car B) has priority, the vehicle behind in the other lane must give way (Car A)
✔️Typically found on urban roads and when overtaking lanes end on rural highways

Keep left unless overtaking on multi lane roads with a speed limit over 80km/h.
