Happy Ganesh Chaturthi🥳 🍨🍫🎈
Bappa in My Favorite color: 🔴🟠🟡
On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, our preschoolers celebrated with a joyful "My Favourite Colour Ganesha" activity, where each child coloured a picture of Lord Ganesha in their own favourite colour. It was a delight to see little hands filling Bappa with bright pinks, Orange and yellow with so much love and devotion. This fun-filled activity not only brought the festive spirit into the classroom but also encouraged creativity, colour recognition, and independent choice-making among our little ones.

R U OK? Day Celebrations at LittleBug's Family Daycare.

To celebrate R U OK? Day at littleBug's Family Daycare, the children engaged in a meaningful and interactive feelings puzzle activity designed to support emotional literacy and wellbeing. The activity encouraged children to identify, name and discuss different feelings. Once the children fixed each feeling puzzle, they looked in the mirror and made the face to match the emotion they had completed, helping them connect facial expressions with feelings and understand that it is okay to talk about how we feel.

ABC Roller Painting - International Literacy Day

As an extension for International Literacy Day, the children participated in ABC Roller Art. The children used a small roller to paint over a big alphabet stencil with letters from A to Z. When they lifted the stencil, they could see the letters clearly and said the letter names out loud. This fun painting activity helped the children to recognise letters, learn letter sounds, and develop their fine motor skills and creativity.

International Literacy Day :
Hide-n-Seek Alphabet Sensory Bin 🅰️🅱️

To celebrate International Literacy Day on 8th September, we set up a fun and engaging literacy activity for our children.

This special day was designated by UNESCO in 1967 to highlight the importance of reading and writing for all.

We created a shredded paper sensory bin and hid colourful alphabet letters inside. Children explored the bin, searched for the letters, and matched them on the alphabet mat. They had so much fun finding letters like B, C, D, H, O and S and recognising them.

This hands-on activity supported letter recognition, fine motor skills, focus and early literacy through play.

🦚🪈 Celebrating Janmashtami with creativity and culture! 💫

Our children enjoyed a meaningful cultural art experience by decorating their very own handmade bansuris, inspired by Lord Krishna. Through this hands-on activity, they explored patterns, textures and colours while developing their cutting, pasting and fine motor skills.

A beautiful blend of culture, creativity and learning through play — making special memories along the way! 🌸✨

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing Dads! 🎉❤️

Our Father’s Day celebration gave the children a wonderful opportunity to express their love and appreciation for their daddies. 🥰

The children had so much fun decorating their special gifts for Dad. They all did an incredible job listening to the instructions and following each step carefully. We were so proud of their creativity, enthusiasm, and effort! 🎁✨

As the saying goes, “A dad is his son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love.” 😍

Wishing all the wonderful dads a very Happy Father’s Day! 💙

*🚧 CAUTION: DADS AT WORK! 🚧*
Our little learners have been busy in our Father's Day construction zone.

For Father's Day this year our theme is "Dad, I Dig You!" 💛

We set up a small world construction site with sand, diggers, dump trucks, blocks and hard hats to explore. The children loved scooping, dumping, building and knocking down!

We also explored construction vocabulary - hard hat, dump truck, excavator, and read our favourite machine books "Busy Machines" and "Wheels and Steel Machines".

A fun way to celebrate our amazing Dads and the big work they do building our families with love!

Happy Father's Day to all our wonderful FDC Dads.

NATIONAL WATTLE DAY 2026

We celebrated National Wattle Day on 1st September. We learnt that the Golden Wattle is Australia's national floral emblem and a symbol of unity. It is dressed in our national colours, green and gold.

The children created their own beautiful wattles by finger dotting the bright yellow blossoms.

🐊📚 BOOK WEEK SET UP - We're Going on a Croc Hunt 📚🐊

Celebrating Book Week with one of Australia's most loved and very famous children's books - "We're Going on a Croc 🐊 Hunt" by Laine Mitchell and Louis Shea. This is an exciting adventure story about a group of brave Australian animals going on a croc hunt. They travel through swishy swashy long grass, thick squelchy mud and deep sparkling water with fun, rhythmic sounds like Splash Splosh, Squelch Squerch, Swishy Swashy, Stumble Trip, Tiptoe Tiptoe and Ahhh Run!

For this set up I have used lots of natural and recycled materials like pebbles, shells, bottle lids, grass, bark and twigs to bring the story to life in a sustainable way.

This hands-on experience offers rich learning for children. They develop their language and literacy as they retell the story, learn new vocabulary and enjoy the rhythm and sounds. They explore sensory textures, practise matching animals to their picture cards, follow the crocodile footprint trail and build their knowledge about Australian animals and habitats. By using natural and recycled materials, children also learn about sustainability and caring for our environment.

The children absolutely loved exploring it!

BOOK WEEK 📚 Big & Little

We are celebrating Book Week with _Think About Big and Little_ by Henry Pluckrose!

We transformed the book into a hands-on sorting table with our "Big" and "Little" boxes. Children loved exploring, matching and sorting our big & little pairs - from koalas and teddies to chairs, cups, cars and more!

So much learning through play:
✨ Comparing & classifying by size
✨ Using descriptive language - big, little, huge, tiny
✨ Early maths, matching & problem-solving
✨ Bringing books to life!
