The Kitchen Table Theory

I was talking to a client recently and asked her what the biggest bugbear in her house was.

She said, “The kitchen table. Everyone puts everything on it… and I’m the one who has to put it all away.”

And I laughed because this has always been a bugbear of mine too. In our house, even lawnmower parts have ended up on the kitchen table. 😂🔧

Somehow it becomes the drop zone for bags, keys, mail, chargers, paperwork and everything else — and then one person ends up clearing it.

So my Kitchen Table Theory is simple:

If everyone uses the table, everyone helps keep it clear.

Give things somewhere else to live — a basket for paperwork, a tray for keys, hooks for bags — and make it everyone’s job to take their own things away.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. But a clear kitchen table can make the whole room feel calmer. 🌿

So here’s to clearer kitchen tables, calmer homes and a little less to think about.

What’s the most random thing that’s ever ended up on your kitchen table?

A little behind the scenes today 🌿
A lovely client testing my new product told me it had already inspired them, that made my day.

Still testing, tweaking and getting it ready to share.

Follow along, something new is coming. 💛

Spring is here 🌿☀️ and there’s something really nice about this time of year, lighter mornings, longer days, birds making a racket far too early, and that feeling that winter is finally behind us.

Throw in footy finals, the Melbourne Show and the first magpie swoop of the season, and you know spring has well and truly arrived. 😊

I also wanted to say a big thank you for all the lovely messages welcoming me back. They were so nice to receive.

I’ve pretty much hit the ground running too. I’ve already been helping a Melbourne mum and her son get organised around finding some casual work, setting up job profiles, looking at options and getting things moving in the right direction.

And one of my little Everyday Helper projects is now being tried out by a family, which I’m very excited about. I’m really looking forward to hearing what they think, what works, what might need a little tweak, and making sure everything is tickety-boo before I take the next step.

And of course, spring apparently also means we should all suddenly feel inspired to wash the windows, sort every cupboard and clean the skirting boards. 😂

I think one drawer might be enough for today.

And if you don’t feel like cleaning anything today, that’s completely fine too. Open a window, get outside, walk the dog, have a coffee in the sunshine or just enjoy the fact that spring is finally here. It doesn’t all have to be productive.

Enjoy the first few days of spring everyone, it’s so nice to finally see it here. And as always, if you need a hand with anything, just reach out. 🌿😊

🌿 I’m back! 🌿

After an amazing holiday, I’m home, refreshed and ready to get The Everyday Helper Co. back into full swing.

While I was away, I was still able to help some lovely people from afar — including assisting with travel information, planning, researching options and those little life-admin jobs. 💛

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about the ways The Everyday Helper Co. can help — whether that’s moving, organising, downsizing, researching, planning, life admin or simply taking a few things off your “to-do” list.

I also have some very exciting news and some brand-new products that I’ve been working on behind the scenes that I can’t wait to share👀✨

So please reach out if there’s anything at all I can help you with — big or small. Sometimes a little extra help can make all the difference. 💛

Helping life move smoothly — one task at a time.

No two days are ever the same at The Everyday Helper Co. and that’s exactly what I love.

This week, I helped a busy family plan fun, affordable school holiday activities, taking the stress out of keeping the kids entertained.

I also helped a couple who were feeling overwhelmed by changing their technology at home. While it’s not a service I provide, I connected them with someone I trust who made the whole process easy.

Sometimes helping isn’t about doing the job yourself. It’s about planning, organising, listening, and connecting people with the right support.

It was great to be able to make it easier for them. 🌿

It’s Winter Solstice and it seems like the perfect time for a little wardrobe wisdom. 😀

Try the Hanger Test! 👗👖🧢👚

Turn all your hangers backwards. When you wear something, turn it forwards.

By spring, your wardrobe will tell you what you actually wear.

Less clutter, more sunshine. ☀️🌿

✨ A little update from The Everyday Helper Co. ✨

Happy Friday!

The past few weeks have been filled with meaningful connections, practical support and helping people navigate life’s transitions.

Recently, I’ve been assisting with:

🏡 Helping people declutter, organise and prepare their homes for the next chapter.

📦 Supporting downsizing and moving journeys, making what can feel overwhelming a little easier.

🏥 Helping someone get their home back in order after a hospital stay, creating a comfortable and organised space to focus on recovery.

📄 Resume writing and job application support, helping people showcase their skills and experience with confidence.

🌿 Assisting with transition-to-retirement planning, providing practical support and guidance as people adjust to a new stage of life.

🤝 Connecting with lovely local real estate professionals and other trusted services to help make important decisions easier.

📅 Tackling life admin, appointments, errands and all those jobs that never seem to make it to the top of the list.

💙 One of the things I love most about this work is that no two days are the same.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me, referred me, or shared kind words about The Everyday Helper Co. Your support means the world.

The past couple of weeks have been such a good reminder of why I love what I do!

I’ve been helping connect families, couples and individuals with support services like tutoring, home assistance and practical support. Hearing the positive feedback that things are going well, makes me smile.

Sometimes people just need someone to help point them in the right direction 🤍
