Big changes are coming for commercial solar.

From 1 October 2026, eligible solar systems between 100 kW and 1 MW can qualify under the expanded Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES), giving larger commercial installations access to an upfront financial benefit through STCs.

For South Australian businesses, wineries, manufacturers and other high-energy users, it creates a significant opportunity to rethink what’s possible for your site.

To put the potential savings into perspective:

☀️ 250 kW system: approximately $68,000 in upfront savings
☀️ 500 kW system: approximately $136,000 in upfront savings

While eligible systems can be installed from 1 October, the Clean Energy Regulator advises that STC applications for mid-scale systems will open in mid to late November 2026.

Precision installation for critical transport infrastructure.

Apex Energy Australia is proud to have supported Adelaide’s Tram Grade Separation Project for SA Infrastructure and Transport, delivering specialised electrical and communications works across three key tram crossing sites.

Our team carried out:
🚊 Custom-manufactured suspension brackets
🚊 Site-specific bracket and conduit support systems
🚊 Installation of 50mm communications conduits
🚊 Works across Morphett, Marion, Cross and South Roads
🚊 Close coordination with contractors across a complex, time-critical transport project

Each site required a tailored approach, with custom-fabricated support systems designed to suit unique crossing conditions and withstand the operational demands of the tram environment.

This was a standout project for our team, showing our expertise in custom fabrication, electrical installation, project management and complex infrastructure delivery.

Remote operations. Harsh conditions. Critical infrastructure delivered.

At the Tarcoola Exchange, Apex Energy Australia delivered critical upgrades as part of the Aura Network program for Fulton Hogan, supporting end client Telstra.

Project highlights:
🔋 DC power system replacement and solar array upgrades
🔋 Installation of 2 new generators and new MDB/MSB
🔋 Decommissioning redundant Telepower equipment
🔋 Cutover of DC loads to new power systems
🔋 Telstra-specified superstructure and optic fibre ducting
🔋 Earthing system upgrades to Telstra standards

Delivered in extreme conditions, our team faced sustained heat, high winds, heavy rain, along with extensive travel on unsealed roads. Staff lived on-site in temporary accommodation with water and fuel freighted in and a 24/7 generator supplying camp power.

Despite the challenges, the upgrade was completed safely and reliably, ensuring continuity of critical network operations across South Australia.
