Father's Day deserves a special bottle. And our new vintage release 2023 Terre Napoleon fits the bill.

It scored 95/100 with the Wine Companion team:

"This is the heart of full-bodied shiraz from the region. Pepper, blood plum, blackberry roulade, subtle mint and basil, laced with sieved crushed gravel, broken earth and salumi nuance. A mouthful, yet poised and restrained, the tannins sinewy and generous but giving under the weight of blackberry fruit and savoury inflection. There is a gamey bacon note, all lustrous under the surface. An exhilarating prospect for future ageing. Tremendously delicious." Katrina Butler

We're celebrating Shiraz this week. We grow stunning fruit here in Kangaroo Island's maritime climate, which we product in a range of styles.

🍷 'Little Island Red’ is our bright, fresh, lightly oaked Shiraz with red and black fruits, black pepper, and a pretty floral character. It's mid-weight, has great length & is very easy on the pocket.

🍇 Springs Road Shiraz is more sophisticated. Its nose is of dark berries and sandalwood, and its smooth, fleshy texture is complemented by flavours of blackberries, liquorice, and exotic spices on the palate. It's just gorgeous.

🏆 Terre Napoleon is our Kangaroo Island barrel selection, made in small quantities only on selected vintages. It bursts with dark fruit (with a hint of orange peel) on the nose and palate. It is mouth-filling, medium to full-bodied, and has a combination of balance, poise, excellent structure, and palate length.

🍷 If you prefer blends, give our Shiraz Cabernet a try. It has a lifted nose of red and black fruit, hints of Provençal herbs, and a dusting of pepper. The palate features fresh red fruits, fine, long tannins, and a stunning finish.

On Kangaroo Island, we apply all the same organic viticulture principles we've used in McLaren Vale for 30 years. With one significant difference.

In winter on KI, we work collaboratively with our neighbouring farmer to allow their sheep & newborn lambs to graze the vineyard floor.

They help eliminate invasive weeds while adding organic matter and micro-nutrients to the soil, removing the need for herbicides & fertilisers.

Like so much of organic farming, it’s just common sense.

⛄ Xmas in July? A sparkling red wine is mandatory, and Little Island Fizz fits the brief. It will pair beautifully with pre-dinner drinks, main courses and even a rich fruit pudding.

Little Island Fizz is a bright, fresh, sparkling red with a hint of aniseed on the nose, cherry cola & a fine bead. The palate has a lovely complexity from carefully aged Cabernet & Shiraz blended to form the basis of this wine.
