Our Chief Cracka - Jacqueline, won an award today!
THE IVAN AWARD
The Ivan Award is presented by BNI Sunrisers for the best 1 minute presentation.
BNI is a business networking organisation and Jacqueline meets with her 'Sunrisers' group of business owners every Friday morning, where, over breakfast, they talk about helping each other out in business. Every member speaks for 1 minute each week on educating fellow members and asking for referrals to others that can help grow their business.
Sometimes these 1 minute info-mercials include some funny experiences.
Every week there's a pretty awesome breakfast, and Jacqueline cannot eat it all so sneaks left over bacon, wrapped in a napkin, into her jacket pocket to take home with her for a treat for her labrador, Bonnie.
Two weeks ago was no exception. Except, that Jacqueline, in her rush to finish up some work before heading to New Zealand later that day, forgot to give the treat to Bonnie.
Instead, she rushed home to pick up luggage, drove to Sydney, and got on the plane wearing the same jacket.
Forgetting about the bacon in the pocket, she declared no food on her customs declaration.
In comes Harold the sniffer dog...
AND a $400 fine.
Note: she will NOT appear on any border control TV program :-)
Moral the story, check your pockets before travelling
and
Don't take food into New Zealand
and
Laugh at your mistakes
Lesson learnt.
