My Friday was plannedā¦itās a half day off for me so I try and blend work with some me time. So today was Park Class, Post office, emails, and socials then a massage in Currumbin Iād been looking forward to, plus some study.
And then on way back from class my car completely died on the Gold Coast Highway. Couldnāt even get the brake to press properly. Had to coast off into a side street in Miami and figure out roadside assistance - Very fun. š

Called Kyle, he came and sat with me while we waited an hour and a half for the tow truck, and this is the part I thought to share with you, because in so many versions of that moment I could have been really sh*tty about it. But I kept coming back to⦠okay, why is this happening FOR me?
We found a little cafĆ© neither of us had ever been to. I tried that purple ube latte drink Iād been wanting to try for ages. We did a Flanneryās run we needed anyway. By the time we were done, the tow truck arrived. Massage got rescheduled without a fee because my therapist is a legend who agreed the energy was weird today š. Kyle drove me to get my packages. We came home and had lunch. And tonight instead of a massage Iāve got Epsom salts, a hair mask, a bath, and a study session on tea and Blue Lotus. Perfect! š¤©
Genuinely not bad for a broken down Friday.
I also like to think of all the reasons unknown to me that perhaps I wasnāt meant to drive to Currumbin todayā¦of course I may never know, but if the universe is working for me⦠š
HOWEVER being able to find that perspective takes capacity. If your nervous system is already at its limit, thereās no room to zoom out. Thatās not a mindset problem, thatās a regulation problem. The daily practices are what give you enough space to actually handle life when it does what it does. And it always does. Right?
I guess this is just a great moment to remind us that the little things we do daily for our mental health and nervous system really do add up⦠and in stressful moments you really do get to reap the rewards of your consistency š
