RECENT PROJECT
We have included a short video about a recent project the team at Drafting Solutions worked on, the Burnley tunnel located in Melbourne, Victoria. 🚘🌏
Our mission was to create an accurate As-built model of this renowned tunnel, providing a valuable resource for future repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
In this model, we incorporated various upgrades, including new cable trays, advanced road lighting, and an innovative pacemaker lighting system.
This groundbreaking lighting system, a first in Australia, encourages drivers to maintain a consistent speed, especially as they navigate the uphill sections towards the exit.
However, the Burnley Tunnel presented us with a unique challenge. Its curved walls, undulating terrain, and changing levels made it difficult to ensure everything was precisely positioned.
But we didn’t back down. We overcame this challenge by meticulously checking each element we placed in the model, meticulously verifying the height and angle to guarantee accuracy.
Despite the complexity of the project, we couldn’t rely on automation as we usually do. Instead, we painstakingly placed each element one by one, paying unparalleled attention to detail and double-checking every aspect.
The result?
A comprehensive and precise as-built model of the Burnley Tunnel, ready to serve as a crucial reference point for future tunnel improvements and safety enhancements.
