Our shiny new big shed has welcomed SER72 💥 parked at our brigade at Milford but ready for deployment across Southeast Region as needed 💦💦💦
This much needed infrastructure is a tremendous asset for our facility and takes us one step closer to having proper clean areas for meetings and training.

Huge amounts of hard work behind the scenes to make this happen - it's not magic - our management committee and volunteers working with Queensland Fire Department are realising a vision. Thank you each and every one 🌟🌟🌟

🔥 Planned Burn at Boonah Hill Reserve🔥
Sunday afternoon 30 August 2026

As part of SRRC disaster management responsibilities, Allandale RFB will conduct important mitigation work at Mount Carmel this Sunday. See attached map for the planned area.

❗️Smoke signs will be up, and crews and trucks will be working along nearby roads. ❗️Smoke may impact the Boonah-Fassifern Road from Red Bridge Rd to the roundabout area, so go slow.
❗️ Please give volunteer crews and vehicles plenty of room.

❗️It's advisable for householders to shut doors and windows for the duration of the burn as changes in wind could bring smoke your way at any time.

Sunday task 🔥💦 Firecall from today, certainly getting pretty dry now. Fire was moving through very thick long grass thankfully lots of crews showed up quickly from Allandale, Boonah Urban's, Mount Alford, Maroon and Kalbar.

Friday arvo tasks done well 🔥💦 "With the window for hazard reduction burns rapidly closing, Allandale spent a top little arvo helping a local landowner knock over a couple of stack-pile burns.

Even better, the neighbourhood turned out in force, getting some hands-on experience, learning a few new skills and becoming familiar with their neighbours’ firefighting gear.

A tidy burn, hardly any smoke, and plenty of willing hands. Pretty hard to beat."

Not every HRB is as picturesque as this one yesterday evening - great image Tim 😃 thanks to some of our crew who could make time on a weekday. Another place close to town that's now safer ahead of the predicted dry spring.
With excellent conditions our crew also headed back there today to finish the task with some stack pile burns 🔥💦🔥 top work Tim, Janet, Clinton and Nick 🌟

Last night training with a real goal - assisting brigade member with tidying up his property. 🔥 stack piles of different sizes and composition go up differently! Excellent reinforcement of skills - radios, drip torch, pumps, fire ground communication, standpipe use. Wind direction curtailed lighting up all the stacks. 🌟 safety first 🌟

Great to have new faces on board! Our brigade is growing and we are excited to welcome new recruits to be a part of this vital organisation 😎

This week, all around Queensland, some 27,000 RFB volunteers have taken a moment to be quietly proud of their role in working to keep communities, property and the bush safer. It's a never-ending task and each season it's a little more challenging.
🌟 yesterday we gathered in a room full of the SE Region RFB family to recognise individuals who humbly contribute to excellence in firefighting roles and those who have long commitment to their brigades.
🌟 A contingent of Allandale RFB crew accepted the honour of SE Region Brigade of the Year - a testament to the work put in by everyone in our crew!
🌟 Our First Officer Tim Russell received the National Service Medal and Brad Grant received a NSW Premier's Flood Emergency Citation 2022-23. Congratulations to you both!

Thank you to all our volunteer colleagues in the rural firies 🔥 it was an honour to be in your company for the afternoon!

It's been a dry July around Boonah ...

Heaps of rain on the ranges in the catchment though - smoke to the west is partly due to QPWS putting fire on the ground to reduce wildfire hazards. Check Park Alerts if you are going bush.

🔥 💦 For our brigade it was very good to get some more 'live fire' training on a local stack pile burn. Thanks to our crew who were available to turn out on a week day arvo 🔥

🌟Allandale Rural Fire Brigade named Regional Brigade of the Year for the South East Region!

🌟 We are proud to be a part of the Queensland Fire Department So much is done behind the scenes in volunteer organisations and we have a team that works so well together and is achieving great things for the the brigade and the community. This recognition is encouraging and appreciated 😁 thank you!

🌟 Across the state events are being held to recognise the work of more than 27,000 volunteers throughout Queensland who help communities prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.

🌟 Kaylene Jones (Chief Officer of RFSQ)has announced the recipients of this year's RFSQ Week Awards. "These awards acknowledge individuals and brigades who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and service to their communities and the organisation. Congratulations to all the outstanding volunteers."
