The Minerals Council of Australia's (MCA) new publication "Mineral Sands: From ancient oceans to modern technology" highlights the opportunity to supply growing markets with high grade mineral sand resources. The potential for this emerging industry within Victoria is significant with many flow on opportunities for industries, businesses and communities alike.
Astron's wholly owned subsidiary Donald Mineral Sands (DMS) project is located in the Wimmera region of Victoria within the Murray Basin and holds world class Mineral Sands deposits. These deposits can produced titanium, zircon and rare earths commodities and with a growing global demand, Victoria and Australia are poised to capitalise on the supply of these minerals and associated value-add industries.
Whilst conventional demand globally for mineral sands products in the development of paint, steel and ceramics industries continues to evolve, the growing demand for Mineral Sands final product application in new technologies such as renewable energy, medical equipment, robotics and electric vehicles is evident. Identifying and meeting the needs of these emerging and important new technology supply chains is an opportunity to be proud of.
