The difference between a strong fiberglass panel and a scrapped part can come down to real-time flow verification.
For one OEM manufacturing fiberglass panels for the RV industry, keeping the resin-to-catalyst ratio on target was critical. If the ratio drifted, parts could become brittle, fail to cure properly, or need to be scrapped.
AW-Lake worked with the OEM and their PLC integrator to implement a Coriolis-based monitoring system using TRICOR meters for both resin and catalyst flow.
The system monitors the resin-to-catalyst ratio in real time. If an off-ratio event occurs, the line can be stopped immediately so the issue can be corrected — and in some cases, the part can still be saved.
For fiberglass manufacturing, flow measurement is not just about tracking material. It is about verifying the process, protecting product quality, and reducing scrap risk.
