Off grid dwelling in Berrima.

A challenging project to work with because it takes time to design it, but it will be worth-it.

I’ve been designing homes in Southern Highlands for over a decade and I am grateful to say that I’ve finally been given a chance to design something unique, custom, and site specific.

This is a sketch of an existing and proposed rear facade of an old and tired brick veneer home that faces north.

The existing home lacked connection to the rear garden and the current layout configuration of the living spaces do not maximise access to the natural daylight. Unfortunately, this is a common problem with the cookie cutter home designs in our shire.

To solve this problem, we proposed a simple layout where we located the living and dining at the rear which flow through alfresco and garden, plus the master bedroom gets to soak in the northern sun too! Win - win!

The renovation works has started and will share the progress photos shortly.

The alterations & additions in Werai is approaching completion.

It won’t be long till is able to hand over the project to our lovely clients.

A challenging project. The BAL FZ construction requirements and council delays are just a few of the key challenges. However, seeing the repetition of gable roof and other elements come to life brings joy

A sympathetic addition is not boring. Sometimes this is what the project needs.
