Harvest is done and your vines are already thinking about next year.

Post-harvest is one of the most overlooked windows in the vineyard calendar. Here's what's worth your attention right now:

1. Vine nutrition: they just pushed out an entire vintage. Get nutrition back in over the next few weeks to set up a strong dormancy.

2. Soil health: grab a test now while conditions are good. Winter is your chance to fix anything before spring creeps up.

3. Canopy & residue: clearing spent material cuts disease pressure heading into 2026. August comes around fast.

4. Equipment: your gear just ran a marathon. A proper look over now saves you from costly breakdowns mid-season.

Need a hand with your post-harvest equipment checklist? The AME team is ready to help.

The Sunraysia region has had a tough run lately, and our team has been out in the field alongside growers, helping them get back on top of their undervine when it matters most. When you've got extreme rainfall, harvest pressure and resistant w**ds like fleabane all hitting at once, reaching for another herbicide just isn't working anymore.

Purpose built mechanical solutions are the answer, and that's exactly what our Niubo and Bahr equipment is built to do.

If your undervine program is struggling to keep pace this season, let's chat. Reach out to our team and let's find a solution that gets you back in control.. whatever this season throws at you.

Harvest is winding down... but the work isn't over yet. 🍇

For the growers already thinking ahead, post harvest is actually one of the best opportunities of the year to set yourself up for a stronger season. And mid-row management? It's more important than most people give it credit for.

Mulching does a lot more than tidy up prunings. Done right, it breaks down organic matter back into your soil, helps lock in moisture over the warmer months, reduces bare soil exposure, and supports the kind of healthy soil microbiome that your vines will thank you for come spring.

The NB Machinery - Niubo Mulchers are purpose built for this work: efficient, effective, and reliable when you've got a full post-harvest to-do list staring you down.

During vintage, the main goal is simple: get the fruit off in peak condition and finish the season strong.

But vineyard floor maintenance plays a quiet role in how smoothly everything runs.

A quick sweep can help:
• Reduce disease spore habitats
• Limit competition around the vines
• Make pruning smoother and uninterrupted
• Set your vineyard up for success next vintage

That’s where the FMR Sweeper Heads come in. They pull trash and early w**d growth out of the undervine zone and into the mid-row, helping tidy up blocks and prepare them for the next big job: pruning.

Across Australia right now, growers are working long days and even longer nights to bring fruit in at optimal ripeness. During this window, machine reliability isn’t a luxury, it’s operational insurance.

The ERO Grapeliner range is built for exactly this period:
• Stable operation across varied terrain
• Consistent berry removal
• Efficient and gentle cleaning systems to ensure fruit quality
• Operator comfort for those long days

Lee’s been busy in Europe✨

Last week he attended Sitevi in Montpellier thanks to some aid from Business France to explore new technology and innovation.

"It’s an experience every grower should try to make. The halls are massive and even three days isn’t enough to see it all."

New contacts were made, some exciting new tech has been noted and who knows… when the time is right, maybe we can bring some of it to Australian growers.
