Planning an IPO? ASIC is proposing changes that could give companies more flexibility to communicate with investors before lodging a prospectus. 📢

The proposal would still keep the prospectus as the key disclosure document for investment decisions.

ASIC is accepting submissions until 11 September 2026. 📅

Internal audit findings that stay open are one of the fastest ways a surveillance visit turns uncomfortable.

A finding is not closed because the procedure was rewritten. It is closed when the cause was identified, someone with authority finished the action, you can show the new control on a live task, and the same gap has not popped up on another crew.

September is a practical window to close last cycle's actions before later-year surveillance.

Anitech audits quality, WHS and environmental systems, and helps teams close findings with evidence that will stand up.

Businesses often collect personal information because it might be useful later.

But under APP 3, personal information should only be collected where it is reasonably necessary for the organisation's functions or activities.

The OAIC's updated guidance also addresses newer collection practices, including AI tools, web scraping, tracking pixels and data broking.

That makes data collection worth reviewing from a different perspective:
What are we collecting?
Why do we need it?
Could we achieve the same purpose with less?

Good privacy management starts before information enters your systems.

There was no Commonwealth Workplace Exposure Standard for diesel particulate matter.

NSW mines already work to 0.1 mg/m³ as elemental carbon. From 1 December 2026, Safe Work Australia’s WEL for diesel particulate matter is 0.01 mg/m³ as respirable elemental carbon, once adopted in WHS laws.

That is ten times tighter. It is not mining-only. Construction plant, warehouses, ports, hospitals with backup generators, agriculture — any site with diesel plant is in scope.

If your last monitoring assumed no national DPM limit, or you managed to 0.1, that result will not hold against 0.01.

This month: map where diesel runs, confirm what you measured against, and name who owns the control review before December. Confirm with your WHS regulator.

Anitech’s occupational hygienists can help you do that comparison.

Fire safety compliance doesn't end when an inspection is completed.

For relevant NSW buildings, records of inspection, testing and servicing need to be retained on site for at least seven years under the current requirements.

That means your records should be accessible, properly maintained and able to demonstrate what has been inspected, tested and serviced over time.

Is your fire safety record keeping ready for inspection?

If a new leading hand has to call the office to find the current procedure, the system is not yet operational.

That is the difference between a certified management system and a used one.

On a lot of Australian sites, ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 live in the same folder. Integration looks done on paper. Then the job starts, the permit is rushed, and the record is written later.

Three questions a supervisor should answer without a phone call:
What is the current procedure for this task?
What evidence do we keep, and where?
Who closes a nonconformance, and by when?

Anitech helps HSE and operations teams build ISO systems that get used on site, then stand up at audit.

Keeping up with director obligations can be difficult when information is spread across different sources and business demands compete for attention.

ASIC's new Small Business Strategy recognises this challenge and has introduced new resources to help directors understand their responsibilities.
