Approval to Delivery
A huge congratulations to Felix Capital and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts on the commencement of construction of the Crowne Plaza development on Ocean Street, Maroochydore which was officially marked by the sod turning yesterday.
It was fantastic to see this landmark project move from approval to delivery. We were proud to attend and be part of such a significant milestone alongside our allied consultants Bennett + Bennett, DBI Design and Elm Development Collective.
This exciting development will deliver:

🔹 900+ sqm of flexible meeting and event space
🔹 Resort‑style amenities and signature dining experiences
🔹 24 luxury apartments
This project will play a major role in strengthening the Sunshine Coast’s tourism and business offering, creating a true world‑class destination for visitors and events.

𝗦𝗘𝗤 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 – 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻

The Queensland Government has commenced an early review of the South East Queensland Regional Plan (ShapingSEQ 2023).

The review is currently in a scoping and early engagement phase, meaning the existing regional plan remains fully in force. At this stage, the focus is primarily on housing supply, employment and economic outcomes, with further work underway to inform a revised draft plan.

An early Have Your Say page is now live, allowing stakeholders to provide high‑level, informal feedback to the State. Formal public consultation is not yet open, and no draft updated regional plan has been released at this time.

The Queensland Government has announced the reinstatement of the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗦𝗙𝗗) 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. This time, it’s been broadened.

Under the updated framework, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (outside environmental or limited development zones) may now be eligible for assessment through the 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆.

✅ State‑led coordination, delivered in consultation with local government

APPROVED : We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with our clients RCQ Built for Life through the approvals process and we are thrilled to have played a part in progressing another milestone in Bulcock St, Caloundra.
Sunshine Coast Council has given the go‑ahead for RCQ’s $250M mixed‑use precinct in Bulcock Street, paving the way for three new towers that will introduce
🔹13 storeys
🔹74 residential apartments
🔹96 hotel and short‑stay suites
🔹 ground‑floor dining and retail
🔹pools, wellness areas, recreation spaces

Construction is anticipated to commence in early 2027.
This development marks a significant step toward reshaping the heart of Caloundra. There is a strong emphasis on creating a more walkable, people‑focused town centre, with through‑site pedestrian link connecting Bulcock Street and Maloja Avenue. Plans highlight features such as landscaped open spaces, shared recreation areas and thoughtfully arranged towers that capture natural light, ventilation and views. Together, these elements encourage community con nection, active lifestyles and support the long‑term evolution of Caloundra.

Exciting News for Maroochydore !!
We’re proud to announce that we’ve successfully secured approval under a Ministerial Infrastructure Designation for the redevelopment of the Maroochydore Surf Lifesaving Club . This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of our team, led by Cameron Adams, alongside our allied consultant Mark Wyer from Elm Development Collective and Brad Read BRD GROUP, as we guided the Surf Club committee through the formal approval process.
This milestone means the club can finally move forward with a much-needed upgrade. Parts of the existing building date back to the 1960s, and the last major renovation was over 20 years ago. The club has outgrown its space, and this redevelopment will deliver facilities that meet the growing needs of members and the wider community.
Key benefits of the project:
🔹 Enhanced safety for beachgoers and nippers with modern lifesaving facilities
🔹Improved functionality and appearance of the clubhouse
🔹 Better traffic flow by relocating the loading dock inside the building
🔹 A stronger foundation for the supporters club, which funds vital lifesaving services
This isn’t just a building upgrade! It’s an investment in community safety, the greater Surf Life Saving Queensland community and connection to our beautiful beaches.
We can’t wait to see their vision come to life!

We’re so excited to share that we've been able to secure approval for the $150M Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, in Ocean Street, Maroochydore.

A massive congratulations to Felix Capital who Cameron and the team, were so thrilled to work along side, on another of their amazing projects !!
