Enough of my work is coming out of Goondiwindi now that one off trips don't stack up, so I've set a fortnightly day. The next one is Wednesday 23 September, then 7 October.
Two reasons for doing it this way.
You get a date instead of a maybe. Ring me today and I'll tell you I'm in Gundy on the 23rd, not that I'll get across when I can.
It costs you less. A trip made for one job wears all the travel. A full day of work shares it, so what lands on your quote is a share of one trip instead of the whole thing.
The one thing to know is lead time. If I measure up on one run, the job usually goes in on the next, so 2 weeks, or if the job requires more time, 4 weeks on the next run. The earlier the measure-up, the earlier that clock starts.
