Faba beans are already starting to come off around the region, and grain harvest is getting closer by the day.

Before the header makes its first pass, here's five things worth checking:

✅ Guidance & GPS – Make sure your receiver, steering and correction signals are working as they should.

✅ Yield monitoring – Check your sensors, displays and settings, and make sure you're ready to calibrate once grain starts flowing.

✅ Field data – Make sure your paddocks are loaded correctly and your recording is ready to go.

✅ Weighing systems – Check your load cells, indicators and calibration so you're getting reliable figures from the start.

✅ Work lighting – Check your light bars and work lights before the first late finish catches you out.

A few checks now can save a fair bit of frustration once everything gets moving.

A bit over an inch of rain around Moree, and there's probably a few happy farmers about!

Grain is starting to move.

Harvest has kicked off further north, and before long we'll see more headers rolling and grain moving out of paddocks across our region.

And once things get busy, there's a lot to keep track of.

What's come off each paddock.
What's in each load.
What's already been carted.
What's gone into storage.

We're getting to the point where harvest isn't something that's months away.

Knowing it's actually working is another.

Is the display behaving properly?

Is GPS communicating?

Are the sensors reading?

Is your yield monitoring ready to be calibrated once crop starts flowing?
