Wow what a day!!

2 x jobs booked in today!

Job 1: head to Sydney South West Pick up Mercedes Sprinter Pantech.
Upon arrival my first impression was that seems a lot taller then I was told. So I get the old tape out measured up & discovered yes 10cm past maximum legal height even if I lower my tray & deflate it’s tyres plus it was being loaded for a house move!!
Well with “Blood pressure” rising fast & no sign of the customer!! I ring him he answers I explain can’t do your job!! Bad news for him more bad news it’s going to cost you my time big dollars it took me 2 hours to get there!! not to mention my return fee!

(Meanwhile job 2 pulls out!! Can rebook that one!!)

So while negotiating with client regarding his situation a large “Barge style Boat”pulls up on opposite side off the road. I’m looking hard at it thinking to myself the Big 3 ton Dual cab can’t tow this the trailer is dragging on the ground!!
It turns out it’s my clients second disaster for the day as he is one the owners.
Boat had been pulled out of a near by boat ramp 100 mtr down the road! Boat was to be transported through busy Sydney streets 16ks up the road.
Client now realising his second disaster unfolding as the trailer try’s to square up on the gutter has now bursted one his tandom axel tyres.
Client now asking for my assistance for his new disaster!! I work out a deal with him & agree to help!! I measure up again & with all measurements just “legal” height, width, length I agree!!
Disaster # 3 now unfolding trailer & boat hitch angel on Dual Cab from their towing effort is all “wrong” boat won’t releases from big D/cab anyway managed to sort this out (much effort).
Begin to load 2 hrs later ready to depart!!

Now it’s a wide load p/side over hang due to loading angle for the recovery dodgy! tipping factor to consider road closure to also consider & numerous safety issues!!

Anyway off we go now entering heavy residential area lots of low wires a few minor tragic distruptions. Arivived destination next task reverse up long narrow driveway
unloading on steep grade!!
Trying to make sure we all survive this day out in Sydney with the weekend warriors!! 1.5hrs unload.
Job done all paid I’m gone! Home ward bound thanking the Gods all the way!!

Moral to this story Check, Measure twice,Calculate your weight & make sure you got plenty of money if it goes wrong!!

These guys got out lightly they were lucky they had Tow Truck on hand!! Haha!!

This is the condensed version of a 4 hr wrestle with this mess!!

I just had to share the mess that people get them selves into at times!! The five (P’s) ringing loud & clear here!!

Just thought I’d share a short video from our Specialised Boat Transport Division!!

As you can see with our “Transformer Truck”there’s not much we can’t do when it comes to
the pointy end of owning a boat!!
Wether you need it transported / relocated,salvaged or stored on one of our “Hire Porta slips” (Very affordable) short term or long term for hull repairs Slipworks/maintenance!!
Our slips can generally manage up to 30ft. our truck can manage up to 9mt boats of various makes!

Hello all,

Another busy week just recovered this old Sailer from the lake after the rather extended salvage operation!! All these jobs take a lot of time so many variables to consider!! Off to the tip now!! Just because your boat may be on a Mooring doesn’t mean you can just forget about it!! Regular Moorings checks would have save this one!!

Good Evening all,

Just a quick little post of the last few days!!
This job took a bit of organising with the many variables of drop offs & pick ups & logistics at the clients request!!
I just like to say at “Hughes” we will take the time & go the extra mile sometimes literally! to get it right for you!! We strive to please “old School Service”
This job was not a rush job it was an exercise in a planning & getting it right due to the many variables!!
I’m happy to report that the 5p’s rang true!!
The result was awesome a great relief for every body involved to pull this off with only some minor issues however still arrived back on time!!
Just to give you an understanding of the distance involved we touched virtually 3 state boarders starting from: Base Morisset to Middle south west NSW, then, close to SA border & then skirting along the north side of the Vic boarder before heading home!! Great little adventure met some amazing people big shout out to all that assisted us along the way hope to meet you again one day!! I really appreciated your hospitality on this job helped a lot!! You know who you are!!
A big shout to all the clients involved in this adventure & a big shout out to “Luke” for making it all possible & a real pleasure to deal with!! Any time mate!!
