On the menu this weekend...magnificent cold-ocean squid. But spare a thought for how they come to be on your plate. When in the mood, squid mate for at least 3 hours. So intense is their lo******ng, they require 1-2 days R&R afterwards. Talk about a cuppa tea, a Bex and a good lie down!

A long winter weekend in the Highlands...crisp mornings, sunny days, the last vestiges of autumn colour clinging to increasingly bare branches...and a memorable lunch in front of the fire. It's always hard to leave. Make sure you try Sally's produce...my favourite is the marinated fetta, but I find the apricot chutney hard to walk away from too.
