At Ngeringa, our philosophy is deeply rooted in environmental care and regenerative agriculture. This mentality extends to what we share at our table, allowing us to work with some amazing local producers of artisanal treats.

The Woodside Cheese Wrights Saltbush Chevre is currently featured on our seasonal menu, a cheese that offers a rich and smooth texture, with beautiful herbaceous notes from the native Australian Saltbush rub. The perfect accompaniment to the 2025 Sheoak Chardonnay, some warm, crusty sourdough and a slow afternoon.

Today we have been shortlisted for the Dark Horse Award from Halliday Halliday W**e Companion ! This award is given to w**eries that are regional hidden gems and true underdogs, as nominated by the Halliday Tasting Team.

“Pioneers of organic and biodynamic w**e farming Janet and Erinn Klein have made substantial strides in quality since establishing their high-density Mount Summit vineyard in ’01. A deft touch in the w**ery and judicious oak handling has allowed the w**es to speak clearly of the decisions made in the vineyard – with detail, restraint, elegance and poise throughout, even in the most weathered vintages. And it’s for this gentle approach, a quiet way with things, that Ngeringa is a fitting Dark Horse.” – Katrina Butler

The 2027 Halliday Awards are announced on Thursday 20th August, and we wait with bated breath until then, to see if Erinn and Janet bring home the trophy!
