For me, it's things such as this.

This is the $25 garage sale anvil that is my legendary morning workout companion.
It used to hold my bed up after the leg broke off from underneath me while reaching for the alarm one morning. Now every morning it holds my feet while I do sit ups.

Going on more than 8 years ago I found a wooden puzzle piece in the gutter and stained it with red calligraphy ink and varnished it.

Just days ago I found the matching wooden puzzle in the Mount Beauty hospital Op shop!
