With City transfers at 930am you are just over an hour away from meeting Sarah, the owner of Boatshed Cheese, sampling the wide range with a view into how it is made.
Onto Red Hill Estate with views over Westernport Bay for a seated food and wine pairing
Lunch by the sea at Alatonero, a popular Greek restaurant at McCrae on the Peninsula
and finish with a visit to Harts Farm to explore the orchard and taste olive oil and cider at this gorgeous farmgate

One of the most beautiful and peaceful ways to spend an afternoon on the Mornington Peninsula is at Montalto is at your own private picnic. Montalto have been hosting on-site picnics since 2002 and are a much-loved offering on our estate. There are ten exclusive and secluded sites throughout the estate, available for groups of 2 – 8, that are not otherwise accessible to visitors to Montalto.

Picnic bookings are available for groups of 2 – 8 people.

To check availability and make a booking please click here. A credit card number and/or voucher number is required to confirm your booking.

Picnics must be booked at least two days in advance. However, we recommend you book as early as possible as picnics are very popular, especially on weekends.

Picnics are $100 per head and include a shared, set menu lunch. The menu is below. Tea and coffee are included and are served in the Piazza until 4pm.

Yarra Ranges Tourism have done all the hard work with information on some fabulous Picnic spots in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.

Upper Yarra Reservoir Park Picnic in the Park

The main picnic area is McVeigh's Picnic area. Facilities include an information shelter, gas and wood fired barbecues, rotunda, toilets and picnic tables.

The rotunda is accessed via a short path of compacted crushed rock from the carpark. The rotunda is paved and has one picnic table and a gas barbecue. There is ample room in the rotunda for maneuvering a wheelchair.

There is a wet weather hall in the grounds, that once served as the mess room for the dam construction team. This hall provides sheltered seating, electric barbecues and hot water.
