In light of a 45 minute phone consult I had last week which was clear night terrors was occurring. I thought I'd make a post for you all. Did you know the difference?

The good news though:
Night terrors are not a sign of trauma or bad dreams — just a sign that the brain is adjusting between sleep stages. They’re common between ages 3–7 and most children grow out of them completely.

If they happen often, keep a consistent bedtime routine and make sure your child isn’t overtired — prevention can make a big difference 💛

Have you ever experienced a night terror (also known as sleep terrors) before?

As your little cub’s brain works overtime mastering new skills, their sleep can become a little unsettled — and that’s completely normal.

You might notice more frequent night wakes (especially around 1-3am), shorter naps, or-extra clinginess during the day.

The good news? These phases are temporary. With consistent routines, lots of reassurance, and time to practice their new skills during the day, sleep usually settles again!

Just do your best. Milestones are big for babies and parents! If you are needing some reassurane or adivce around sleep regressions and sleep book a 45 minute consult via the link in our bio!

I understand that every family’s sleep journey looks different. That's why my approach is evidence-based, understanding, and grounded in compassion — because you and your baby deserve support that feels good, not forced. And one that comes from the mind of a mother that's been through the sleepless nights, too! 🤍✨

Did you know nearly 1 in 3 adults don’t regularly get the uninterrupted sleep their body needs?

And in children, sleep loss is linked to changes in brain structure and challenges with mood, memory, and attention (plus more)

What does this tell us? .....
Sleep training your baby/child that is not getting the restorative sleep they need (day/night) isn’t a luxury — it’s preventative care.

It gives you more than just sleep:
• More energy
• Healthier relationships
• A better functioning brain (yours & baby’s)
• Healthy gut functions
• Less risk of long-term health issues

🌟 And most of all, a HAPPIER HOUSEHOLD 🌟

You don’t have to do it alone — I’m here to help your whole family find the rest you deserve. DM me what's happening in your world of sleep and see how I can 🌙

SEND TO A MUM WITH A TEETHING BABY PR SAVE FOR LATER 💕

Teething often gets blamed for sleep struggles, and while it’s true that babies may be a little more unsettled as a tooth cuts through, the research shows teething only has a short-term impact on sleep. Studies published in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) database found that babies may experience slightly more night waking or irritability in the days immediately before and after a tooth erupts — but beyond that, teething isn’t a major disruptor of ongoing sleep.

So if your little one’s sleep has been off track for weeks (or even months), teething is unlikely to be the main reason. What’s often happening instead is a combination of normal developmental changes and the way your baby is learning to connect their sleep cycles.

Bottom line: Teething may cause a few rough nights here and there, but it isn’t the reason sleep falls apart long-term. With the right approach, you can support your baby’s comfort and protect their sleep — both can exist together. 💕

If you're needing some help navigating your child's sleep, book a 1:1 phone consult with me today for personalised support and tips that will guarentee a more restful sleep.

DROPPING THE LAST NAP OF THE DAY ⭐️

This typically happens between 6-8 months and is the first big change in your little ones sleep routine. Your baby is still quite young so you do want to take it slowly, don't rush things and if your little one is 9 months, sleeping 3 naps a day and sleeping great overnight... don't change a thing. Wait until things aren't working for you and then readjust.

You've got this mumma. I'm only a phone call or support package away if you need help and my DMs are always open if you need to vent 😘

●SAVE THIS POST FOR LATER●

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS IS ENDING! My least favourite time change too, don't worry! And you're not alone if you feel a little anxious around this change either!

What once was a 7am wake will now be a 6am wake. So for all our early bird babies, this means a 6am wake will now be 5am 🥱😩

If you're ready to get organised and shift your baby's sleep schedule just in time for the time change, then head to the link in my bio and download our free Time Change Toolkit.

And remember I am here when you need me 🤍
