This post is of a more personal nature than usual. Unfortunately the last half of 2023 was not what I was expecting and delivered some major health issues in the form of cancer. I consider myself lucky as it was found early through a routine test. I won't sugar coat it treatment was rough but I was lucky enough to be able to continue working throughout thanks to some very understanding clients. I am now recovering and increasing my workload so let me know if you need a hand with anything contributions related....

Who has travelled to Singapore? If you have you will have no doubt travelled on the main road from Changi Airport to the City - the one with the beautiful potted flowers that form the centre island of the road. Apparently, within 15 minutes those pots can be moved out of the way and the road becomes an emergency runway for the airport - I hope that is true because if it is that is truly strategic thinking!

I am so excited to have worked on this project with Shellharbour City Council. Big shoutout to the project team who took the dream of others (not me) and got it out of their heads and on the ground! This project was one of passion and collaboration. Have you missed me?

I know I have been a little quiet lately but the chaos of the last 2 years finally caught up with me. After scaling back for the last couple of months I am now recharged and ready to help with any contributions, infrastructure or social/urban planning issues you might have.

If you want the best 'bang for buck' for infrastructure a library has to be right up there at the top closely followed by a public pool. Both cater for the widest cross section of the community and have significant public benefits. Unfortunately social benefit still seems to be a game of 'hot potato' with responsibility being constantly passed along the line.

5 years ago I took a big leap of faith in myself and after 25 years in various government roles (Local, State and a short stint in Federal) I left and started my own business - yep this one! I have to say it has been a wild ride so far but I am so thankful to my amazing and loyal clients. You have given me the opportunity to be involved in projects that have challenged me and built on my skills. I appreciate you all. I look forward to another 5 years!
