SMW Drilling Services is hiring a Product Support Advisor in Queensland. If you know drill rigs inside out and want to lead technical support, reliability and mentoring across a growing fleet and crew, this role is for you.

What you’ll do:
• Keep our drill rigs running reliably through hands-on technical support and troubleshooting
• Drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement
• Mentor site supervisors and maintenance crews
• Lead fleet audits and work scopes, and manage OEM and supplier relationships

What you’ll bring:
• Cert III/IV in Engineering or an equivalent trade
• Proven experience maintaining heavy mining equipment
• Strong knowledge of Cat, Epiroc and Sandvik surface drills
• A current Class C licence and availability for after-hours support

We’re pleased to announce the award of two new long-term contracts with Whitehaven Coal at its Tarrawonga and Vickery open cut mines in the Gunnedah Basin, NSW.

Commencing this month, the contracts will see SMW supply multiple drill rigs and deliver fully maintained production drilling services across both sites.

Congratulations to Michael Emerick, who has recently stepped into the role of NSW Area Manager.

Michael joined SMW over five years ago as an operator at our Meteor Downs project in QLD. Since then, he has stepped up to project manager, and now he’s leading our NSW operations.

Throughout that time, Michael has been recognised for his exceptional leadership, his ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing conditions, and the positive attitude he brings to every crew he works with.
Michael knows this work from the ground up, and that experience will serve our team and clients well in his new role.
