That’s a wrap on the 2026 Fabulous Long Lunch.

A beautiful afternoon filled with new faces and familiar ones.
New friendships formed, conversations shared and a room full of women celebrating each other and the journeys we’re all on.

A huge thank you to Executive Chef Brendan Nolan and the team at for an incredible degustation, perfectly paired with local Mudgee wines. The food, the atmosphere and the hospitality were exceptional.

Thank you also to the wonderful Simone Eyles from .co for sharing her story so openly and powerfully. Your work continues to challenge us to think differently, to be more inclusive, and to lead human first.

And a special thank you to Squadron Energy for supporting this year’s lunch.

Twenty women in one room.
Meaningful conversation.
Connection, celebration and a reminder of what happens when great women gather in the same room.

Already looking forward to the next one. 💕

Each year I host a Fabulous Long Lunch, and last year attendees told me clearly that the magic was in the intimacy. Smaller room. Better conversations. Real connection.

So this year I’ve crafted it intentionally to be small. Just 30 women around the table for an experience designed for meaningful conversation, visibility and community.

Our guest speaker is the rather fabulous Simone Eyles, Founder of .co - Australia’s first social enterprise focused on disability inclusion in media and marketing. Simone is redefining representation through inclusive imagery, talent pathways and education, helping brands and businesses move from intention to real action.

If you value thoughtful rooms, powerful conversation and the kind of connection that lasts long after the lunch ends, I would love you to join us.

Saturday 14 March, Mudgee.
Only a few seats remain.

This time last week, everything felt slower in the best possible way. There was no rushing between sessions, no packed schedule, no pressure to produce an outcome by a certain time. Just space. Space to think, to talk properly, to step away from the day to day and look at what actually matters - in business and in life.

What unfolded over those three days was never about a rigid agenda. It was about conversation. The kind that starts with business and quietly moves into confidence, decisions, direction and the things we don’t always say out loud. There were moments of clarity that only happen when you’re not trying to force them, and the kind of laughter that comes when people feel safe enough to fully be themselves.

Of course, the details were beautiful. We gathered around the table for private chef meals from that felt both special and effortless. A private wine with tasting turned into stories, reflections and unexpected breakthroughs. There were IV drips with plus slow mornings, walks, time alone and time together - all held with the understanding that rest is not something you earn, it’s something you allow.

But what stays with me isn’t the luxury. It’s the shift. Watching shoulders drop. Watching ideas land. Watching women reconnect with their own voice and trust their next step again. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause long enough to hear yourself think.

I created these intimate retreats to be intentionally spacious. Not to remove ambition, but to remove noise. Because when the noise fades, the real work begins - honest conversations, clearer decisions and momentum that feels grounded rather than forced.

I’ve already secured our location for 2027, which feels both exciting and deeply aligned after what unfolded last week. If spending three days retreating, masterminding and properly relaxing together feels like something you’re craving, I’d love to hear from you.

Not as an escape, but as a return - to yourself, your work and what matters most in the season ahead.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is Balance the Scales.

A promise that every woman and girl is safe, heard, and free to shape her own future.

And yet in 2026, unjust laws, outdated systems and ingrained barriers still stand in the way of fair and inclusive communities. The UN is calling on all of us to move beyond conversation and into real action.

That’s why I am so intentional about who I invite to speak at my annual International Women’s Day Fabulous Long Lunch here in Mudgee.

This year, it’s Simone Eyles - Founder of Disinfluencer, Australia’s first social enterprise focused on disability inclusion in media and marketing.

Disinfluencer exists to change who we see, and how we see them.

Through inclusive stock imagery, diverse talent pathways, education and practical tools for brands and businesses, Disinfluencer is actively redefining representation. Not as a “nice to have”. Not as a marketing trend. But as a fundamental shift in how stories are told and whose stories are valued.

Simone brings lived experience as a parent of a child with disability, combined with a career spanning startups, social impact and small-business advocacy. She has built and sold businesses, supported founders through crisis as a Financial Counsellor, and now channels that straight-talking, practical energy into building systems that create access, opportunity and visibility.

She cuts through the fluff.
She builds things that matter.
And she makes inclusion actionable.

On Saturday 14 March, we’ll gather for an intimate five-course degustation lunch with matching local wines by an award-winning local chef - just 30 women in the room.

Because real change doesn’t happen in echo chambers.
It happens in rooms where courageous conversations are held, ideas are challenged, and action is taken.

If you value meaningful connection, bold thinking and building communities where equality is the rule - not the exception - I would love to have you with us.

Yesterday I had the absolute honour of attending our local Australia Day Awards ceremony.

I was nominated for Citizen of the Year and honestly, I’m still feeling very humbled by it.

To be recognised alongside so many incredible people who quietly show up, give their time, and care deeply about our community was incredibly special. This region is full of doers, volunteers, connectors and champions, and just being considered in that company is something I don’t take lightly.

Everything I do through Mid-Western Living Magazine, the events I host, and the communities I help build comes back to one thing. Connection. Telling local stories. Creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and proud of where they live.

Thank you to whoever took the time to put my name forward. It truly meant more than you know. And congratulations to all of the nominees and winners. Our region is better because of you.

Always grateful to call Mudgee home.
