B&G History
Berridge & Gallagher has been part of the Mudgee region’s story since 1987, when Howard Berridge and Gemma Gallagher set out as a small two-person electrical team. What began with local jobs and a growing demand for dependable electrical services soon developed into a business known across Mudgee, Gulgong and the surrounding district for quality work, practical solutions and good old-fashioned reliability.
Nearly four decades later, B&G remains a trusted name in both commercial and domestic electrical services. The business has earned its reputation through consistent workmanship, technical know-how and a strong commitment to looking after its customers — whether that means supporting a major regional project, keeping a business running smoothly or helping a local family with their home electrical needs.
Over the years, B&G has been involved in many important projects that have helped shape the region. The team has contributed to the renovation of the Mudgee Town Hall, installed field lighting at Glen Willow and Victoria Park, and assisted with the electrical fit-out of the new Mudgee Hospital. These projects reflect not only the company’s capability, but also its long-standing connection to the places and facilities that matter to the local community.
The company’s experience extends well beyond town projects. B&G has delivered large-scale energy and infrastructure solutions, including solar installations for Robert Oatley’s bottling plant at Montrose Winery, electrical upgrades and maintenance across three coal mines, and more recently electrical works for Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zones project. Maintenance services at Wellington Correctional Facility further demonstrate the depth, flexibility and reliability of the business.
While major projects are an important part of the company’s work, B&G has never lost sight of its local roots. From new home installations and renovations to upgrades, repairs and general maintenance, the team continues to support households, farms and businesses throughout the region, helping keep the community powered, safe and connected.
As demand for reliable backup power has grown, B&G has also expanded its generator hire fleet to seven generators, ranging from 22kVA to 110kVA. Supported by an All-Terrain scissor lift for safe and efficient work at heights, this equipment allows the team to respond to a wide range of site needs with confidence and care.
Just as important as the work itself is B&G’s investment in people. Over the years, the company has supported more than 50 local apprentices from Mudgee and Gulgong through their training, helping young tradespeople build skills, confidence and long-term careers in the electrical industry. It is a proud contribution to the future of the trade and to the strength of the local workforce.
B&G is also proud to give back to the community that has supported the business for almost four decades. Through sponsorship of sporting clubs, community events, charities and local initiatives, the company continues to play an active role in the Mudgee and Gulgong communities. Team members also regularly take part in charity golf days and fundraising events, creating opportunities to support good causes while building strong connections within the team and the wider community.
This combination of technical excellence, dependable service and genuine community involvement has made Berridge & Gallagher a cornerstone of the region’s electrical industry.
Although ownership has evolved over the years, the values that have guided B&G since 1987 remain firmly at the heart of the business. In July 2025, Blake Coleman joined Steve and Karina Berridge as an owner, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s history.
Together, they continue to build on B&G’s strong foundations — delivering quality workmanship, reliable service and practical electrical solutions while supporting the people, businesses and communities that have been central to the company’s story from the beginning.
