Sentis Make a safety culture change for the better through assessments, training, coaching and consulting.

Safety isn't about protecting you from something, but for something...

Offering safety culture assessments, training, coaching and consulting, Sentis helps organisations to break through the safety plateau and achieve positive safety culture change. As experts in applied psychology and neuroscience, we make safety personal and equip employees with the knowledge, skills and motivation to make saf

er choices, each and every day. This leads to safer, more engaged workplaces, as well as increased productivity, leadership capability and transformational, sustainable safety culture change. Safety culture flows from the top. But here's the thing, it's not just about what leaders do. It's about how your team experiences it.

Research across nearly 9,000 workers in high-risk industries found that only 1 in 4 leaders displays strong safety leadership behaviours, as experienced by those they lead.

So the real question isn't whether leadership matters. It's whether yours is working.

Where would your leaders land?

What a great day in Mackay. πŸ™Œ

Tia Armit and Chantell Bennett made the trip up to represent Sentis at the RIN Safety Conference this week.

Tia also took to the stage alongside Tim Ffrost from Dalrymple Bay Infrastructure to share DBI's journey to safety citizenship, a genuine example of what's possible when leadership, vision and culture all pull in the same direction.

Thanks to the Resource Industry Network for the opportunity, and to everyone who came along and joined the conversation. Always great to be in a room full of people who care deeply about getting this stuff right.

Here's the uncomfortable truth about safety culture change.

You can deliver the best training program ever created, but when people are under pressure, tired, or distracted, they don't reach for the new way. They reach for what's familiar.

Successful culture change requires well planned integration including embedding across leadership, systems and everyday practice.

The work of understanding safety culture doesn't happen by accident. It takes people who are genuinely curious about why organisations behave the way they do and meticulous enough to find out.

Meet our research and diagnostics team. We asked them about what safety culture really means, what a strong diagnostic looks like in practice, and why this work matters to them personally.

Here's what they said ⬇️

Melbourne, you delivered. πŸ™Œ

We had a brilliant couple of days at the Workplace Health & Safety Show in Melbourne this week.

Dr Vanessa Cook's session on how systems shape the experience of work drew a brilliant crowd, and Corinne Wong, Samantha Johnson and Maddie Storey had an absolute blast connecting with so many great safety professionals at our stand.

The energy in that room was something else. See you in Sydney later this year!

Did you know up to 45% of SIFp incidents across the mining and utilities sector are classified at low or moderate risk levels?

Most of the insight you need is already sitting in your existing data. It just needs the right lens.

We explored what that looks like in practice:

Learn how better incident classification and safety culture can sharpen your critical risk management, starting with data you already have.

Why do safety incidents still happen when people know exactly what they should do?

Next week, Sentis' Dr Vanessa Cook and Dr Brett Solomon are hosting a practical, science-backed session on the implementation gap: the space between what people learn in training and what they actually do under pressure in the field.

They'll cover the physical, psychological and social conditions that make safe behaviour stick, and the role leaders play in creating them. Practical tools and approaches you can take straight back to your team.

Your organisation has a nervous system too.

Our own Maddie Storey uses this analogy to explain how psychosocial risk shows up in your workplace.

What signals is yours sending?

If you're a safety leader who's watched a promising initiative slowly fade back into business as usual, this one's for you.

Old habits are powerful. Under pressure, the brain defaults to what's familiar, not what's new. Without the right integration strategy, even the best training loses its grip within days.

Join Dr Vanessa Cook, Head of Positive Safety at Sentis, to explore the seven critical integration areas that separate lasting culture change from another tick-and-flick exercise.

πŸ—“οΈNew dates. Same question.

What if safety was something your people chose, not something they were forced into?

Our Positive Safety Open Program gives leaders a practical, psychology-based introduction to building the kind of culture where people go above and beyond without being watched.
