What a start to October, we had 65mm of rainfall on the vineyard in 24 hours. It’s wet under foot and the river is again high. Thankfully flooding is not as extensive as this time last year.

Reaching New Heights. When we are surrounded by family and friends attaining their goals, it’s great to support them and celebrate together. Together we reached new heights, Mt Everest Base Camp. Inspiration for reaching for the skies, don’t limit your beliefs.

With all the recent rain we have had the Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 6.87m. Thankfully we were able to take out our irrigation pump, otherwise it would be about 2 metres underwater.

Final day of harvest today. It’s always a relief to see the final truck leaving the gate for the winery.

We had an early start on the vineyard this morning. Our contract pruners started our pruning, this sets us up for the vintage. Pruning controls the quality and quantity of fruit produced. We aim for low yield and great quality fruit.

The pre-prune has just been done. This will make the job of hand pruning much quicker. The hand pruners will come in and prune to our exact requirements, giving us control over yield and quality of the grapes. It’s a huge job, but sets the vineyard up for vintage 22.

Even during the off season, there is plenty to be done. Pruning, equipment maintenance and upgrades. Today we had this sprayer delivered, it’s sure to halve our time in fungicide spraying compared to our previous sprayer. Looking forward to giving it a test run.

The results have been released for the 40th Annual Victorian Wine Show. We are very pleased to share that we received a medal for our 2018 and 2019 Shiraz Express. The category that we entered is highly competitive and includes some exceptional wineries and winemakers. We are extremely proud to receive a silver medal for both our 2018 and 2019 vintages. Thank you for all the support and feedback we have received from our customers.
