Lambing is done, just in time for the work in the vineyard to begin!

Thanks to the warmer weather, our vines are about two weeks ahead of schedule. Soon, we’ll separate our smallest Babydolls from the bigger flock so they can take up their roles as our vineyard crew for the growing season.

These little workers do more than just look cute! They help reduce labour costs, manage weeds and grass, remove water shoots from vine trunks and support soil health.

Keep an eye out for them in the vineyard when you visit the cellar door.

🍕🍷 A very delicious partnership for this weekend’s Murrumbateman Moving Feast!

We’re teaming up with Fiona & Brett from Pop-Up Pizza who share our belief that good things take time, care and a little bit of doing things differently.

Their pizzas are stone-baked fresh, with dough fermented for 72 hours and every pizza cooked to order. We love that same small-batch, hands-on approach — making something properly, rather than taking shortcuts.

For Moving Feast, they’re creating a few special pizza flavours designed to match our w**es — we can’t wait for you to try them!

So exciting to be contacted by The New York Times this week to share our enthusiasm — and some of our video footage — of the incredible bogong moth migration! 😱

Proof that you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover… these little rather drab-looking moths have an incredible story to tell, and now they’re making international news! ❤️

Bogong moths have been in decline since the 1980s, but this spring the insects have been sighted in the thousands across southeastern Australia, delighting scientists.

🐑🍇 Meet the other residents of The Vintner’s Daughter…

Alongside making w**e, we also run a Babydoll sheep breeding stud Osborne Ridge Farm and our little sheep play an important role in how we manage our vineyard.

These short, stocky little sheep can graze among the vines year-round because they’re small enough that they can’t reach the grapes. They help us keep the vineyard floor under control and are an important part of our goal to reduce our reliance on herbicides.

At this time of year, our rams are enjoying some time in their bachelor paddock while we prepare for lambing season. And while they may look cute…they are absolutely NOT cuddly.

Those little heads can pack a surprisingly nasty punch when they decide to ram you, so we admire them from a safe distance!
