There's a style of portraiture that's gone a bit out of fashion - and it's the one I keep coming back to. 🤔
Less posed. Less "say cheese." More about catching someone mid-thought, in their own space, doing what they actually do. The old-school journalistic approach - where the environment tells half the story and the person doesn't have to perform for the camera. 📸
After 22 years behind the lens, this is the work I still love most: photographing people in their workplace, capturing them as they really are. A tradesperson mid-task. A business owner in the space they built. Hands doing the work, not just a smile to camera. 🤜🏼🤛🏻
It's a different kind of headshot. One with texture, character, and a bit of grit - the kind of image that actually looks like you, not a stock photo version of you.
If you're after a portrait that feels real rather than staged, I'd love to work with you. Based in the Gold Coast/Tweed/Byron region and taking bookings now.
Oh! And many thanks to my client, Adam of Johnny Franco's restaurant in for being a gem. 🫡
