Since losing your bed can come so suddenly, your head will be spinning and it's crucial that you know how to take action on the most important steps first.

Chapter 1 is your survival, read it, learn it, follow it. Don't get distracted, don't become bitter, move ahead and stay focused the best way you know how.

Hey legends.
here is the intro to the Blue Torch Book.
I'm going to slowly work through each chapter, making some comments as I do about the reality of being homeless.

The intro to this book is very in your face. It doesn't attempt to hide the hard stuff. They say the kindest thing you can do for someone is tell them, exactly how it is. Over 17 years on the street, working with people who are homeless, I can say that this book, guided by the voices of former homeless souls, hits the target and makes something so far from many of our experiences, finally, accessible and visible.

Please don't close your heart to this writing.

No-one is ready for homelessness, it doesn't ever come at a convenient time.

As we look into what this book reveals, we can create new and effective ways to support people in and through this horrible situation.
