'Tali' by Maureen Hudson Nampitjinpa reflects a sense of movement, and the timeless undulation of the sandills of her ancestral lands.

An established artist from Yuelamu, Maureen began painting in 1981 surrounded by talented artists including her cousin, internationally renowned artist Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, and other important artists of the time.

She is known for her subtle, rhythmic expression of the desert landscape, and its changing nuances as it is moulded and transformed by the elements.

Tanya is an early career artist based in the Umoona Community in Coober Pedy. Born in Port Augusta in 1975, she is a Yankunytjatjara and Pitjantjatjara woman with deep family connections to Coober Pedy spanning more than eight generations.

A strong advocate for the Umoona and Coober Pedy communities, Tanya holds a respected leadership role within her community. Her paintings reflect the colours of the Coober Pedy landscape - capturing the surrounding desert, rock formations and imagery of her Country.

Inspired by the dramatic electrical storms of her youth in Darwin, Sarrita King’s 'Lightning' series captures the raw energy of nature in motion ⚡️

The striking lines mimic the way lightning cracked across the sky - patterns that echoed the look of the fractured earth. With every storm came swirling dust, heat, rain and magnetic tension, creating a shifting palette that Sarrita would later translate onto canvas.

A powerful memory, rendered through movement, texture and light.

Alive with energy and presence, 'Opal Country' by Tanya Van Horen, tells a truly special story.

Painted in layered colour and organic forms, the piece reflects the painted desert of Coober Pedy - its opal fields, shifting light and expansive skies. Tanya builds colour intuitively, allowing the landscape to emerge through movement and depth.

As she explains:
“The colours they speak, they talk to you. On country, colour shows you where water is, food is, where life is.”
