💪 Heavy Work: Building Strength Through Play! 💪

Our preschoolers explored tug-of-war and tyre rolling as a fun and engaging heavy-work experience! 🪢

As children pulled, pushed and worked together, they were developing gross motor strength, coordination, balance and body awareness. Heavy-work experiences can also provide opportunities for children to practise persistence, problem-solving and self-regulation.

Most importantly, the children were learning through active, purposeful play — encouraging teamwork, communication and plenty of fun along the way! 🌟

Tummy Time: Building Strong Foundations

Tummy time is an important part of babies’ early development. Through these simple moments of play, babies are building strength in their neck, shoulders, arms and core while developing the skills they need for future movement.

As babies lift their heads, reach for toys, explore their surroundings and interact with educators, they are developing coordination, balance, strength and confidence. 💛

Every little push, stretch and reach is a step towards becoming more capable and independent movers! 👶✨

Our young children are developing their physical skills and confidence as they explore the balance beam. 🧒👣

As they carefully step, stretch, balance and adjust their bodies, children are strengthening coordination, gross motor skills, body awareness and spatial awareness.

Most importantly, experiences like this encourage children to challenge themselves, develop perseverance and recognise their own capabilities. 💪✨

Every step is an opportunity to say, “I can do it!” 🌱

🎨 Exploring Colour Through Creative Play

Our toddlers have been busy exploring colour, texture and creativity through this wonderful collaborative painting experience! 🌈🖌️

With paint, brushes, hands and plenty of curiosity, children are free to experiment and express their ideas in their own unique ways.

This experience supports:

🎨 Creative expression – making choices and exploring their own ideas
🤲 Fine motor development – strengthening hands and coordination through painting
👀 Sensory exploration – experiencing different colours, textures and movements
🗣️ Communication – sharing ideas and engaging with friends
🤝 Social learning – creating alongside others and learning to share the space and resources

Our toddlers are enjoying the sunshine and making the most of opportunities for hands-on outdoor exploration! ☀️💛

Through scooping, pouring, carrying and transporting, children are developing their fine and gross motor skills, coordination and spatial awareness while working alongside their friends.

These simple play experiences also encourage curiosity, problem-solving, communication and cooperation as children explore how materials can be moved, collected and used in different ways.

Angel Tots has an ongoing commitment to Child Safety.
Last Thursday evening our team gathered for ongoing professional development.
Our session with supported our educator's understanding of their roles and responsibilities as Mandatory Reporters.
As educators, we have an important role in recognising signs that a child may be experiencing harm, responding appropriately to concerns, and following our professional and legal responsibilities.

Our learning explored:

🔹 Recognising indicators of abuse, neglect and harm
🔹 Understanding our responsibilities as mandatory reporters
🔹 Knowing when and how concerns should be reported
🔹 Responding to children with care, respect and sensitivity
🔹 Maintaining professional boundaries and child-safe practices
🔹 Creating environments where children feel safe, heard, respected and supported
🔹 Reflecting on our practices and our responsibility to speak up when something doesn't feel right

Ongoing professional learning helps us build confidence, strengthen our practice and ensure child safety remains at the heart of everything we do. 🌱💛
