We will start first with the caveat that this is a demonstration only, utilising census data from 2016 (2021 wasn’t available yet) and registration data from Transport & Main Roads QLD, with both data sets acquired from an open-source Government data website. The purpose is not to through actual numbers at you, but show what is possible in data analysis.

Utilising above data sets a dashboard has been created in Power BI which allows us to see a heat-map of QLD registered vehicle registered addressed, combined with median income data & a ratio of cars to population.

Now, it is all good and well creating a beautiful dashboard, but the data is meaningless without context.

Role and Responsibilities
• Collecting and interpreting data
• Interpreting business processes and improving through automated solutions
• Analyzing results and developing dashboards
• Reporting the results back to the relevant members of the business (internal) and customers (external)
• Identifying patterns and trends in data sets
• Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs.
• Defining new data collection and analysis processes
• Potential to be involved with PowerApps and PowerAutomate development
About you
• You will gather data from various sources and then review and interpret it using data analysis tools to provide meaningful information and insights to help businesses make better-informed decisions. This will be on a project-by-project basis as we receive work from our various customers. This could be decisions about any aspect of business, for example investments, cost-savings, pricing, hiring, operations, or scheduling.
Desired Qualifications and Education
• 2+ years’ experience in a business intelligence role.
• Experience in working with relational databases (such as Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL)
• Experience in working with DAX, M Language
• Ability to understand and find appropriate applications for data and analysis results.
• Strong understanding of data modelling practices
• Exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform
Expectations
• To be able to simplify complex scenarios and explain technical solutions in a non-technical manner to stakeholders.
• Be agile when approaching packages of work all with different priorities and timeframes
