Communicating effectively and transparently with your people means giving them the right amount of insight into decisions and how they have been made. It also means genuinely understanding them in order to create a culture where people will thrive. In turn, this culture creates profit. Law school teaches you how to interpret legislation, manage risk, and serve clients. But it doesn’t teach you how to lead people.

Recently, we had the privilege of joining Ryde Council Library to celebrate Women’s Health Week with a room full of remarkable women.

Our own Michelle Crawford and Sobia Zafar joined the amazing speakers for an evening of reflection, conversation, and connection, creating space for women to pause, say yes to themselves, and explore what wellbeing and success really mean on their own terms.

Stories flowed, perspectives shifted, and moments of laughter and emotion reminded us of the power of gathering in community.

Leadership is about how you show up, not what your business card says. The best leaders influence through presence, not position. Human-centred leaders:

✅ Stay calm when others react
✅ Choose curiosity over control
✅ Build trust through consistent behaviour
✅ Own their impact, not just their intent

💡 Example: One of our clients started a daily two-minute team huddle simply to check in. It wasn't part of their official role. But the ripple effect on trust and morale? Massive. That’s leadership in action.
