From the moment Bloodwood opened on South King Street in 2010 it didn’t just serve great food and drink, it helped shape the soul of the Newtown–Enmore dining scene. Head chef and owner Claire Van Vuuren’s commitment to seasonal produce, small suppliers and genuine hospitality has influenced countless venues across the precinct. From iconic share plates to a constantly evolving wine list, Bloodwood remains a benchmark for what thoughtful, community-led dining looks like in the Inner West.
We dive deeper into Bloodwood’s story in the latest issue of TOWNMAG, exploring how its values, people and longevity continue to define our neighbourhood. Pick up a copy around the precinct and spend time with the stories that make Newtown and Enmore what they are.
TOWNMAG is produced by the Newtown Enmore Business Community (NEBC) to celebrate local businesses, culture and creativity. Become a member to support independent storytelling in the precinct, or advertise in the magazine to connect with a highly engaged local audience that truly cares about this place.
