It was a stunning day to be on out on beautiful Corio Bay yesterday, and we were delighted to be doing so with Ports Victoria and 140 Year 10 and 11 students from eight schools across Geelong.

Through our partnership with Ports Victoria, we’re proud to be able to give local students an exclusive on-water tour of our facilities and to share the important role that GeelongPort plays in keeping the region, state and nation moving.

The tour also provides an opportunity to educate the next generation about the diverse career opportunities that exist within the port and maritime industries. We're excited this partnership with Ports Victoria will inspire as many students as possible to explore careers in the sector.

A special thank you to Brianna Archer from GeelongPort who provided an engaging tour of the GeelongPort precinct and shared her career journey to becoming an Asset Performance Analyst.

Identity, belonging and community will take centre stage this weekend as North Shore Football and Netball Club hosts its Indigenous Round.

Congratulations to Northern Bay College student Dream Hoysted, whose jumper design has been selected by the club. The design was selected through the Hansen “Rocky” Couzens Scholarship for Indigenous Art, an annual initiative that GeelongPort and NSFNC deliver in partnership with Northern Bay College.

Through this partnership, we're aiming to help create meaningful opportunities for First Nations students while strengthening connections between education, sport and community.

Earlier this week, a group of our employees had the privilege of attending the 2026 NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony at the Booln Booln Cultural Centre.

The event featured a powerful Welcome to Country by Aunty Judy Dalton-Walsh, alongside traditional dance and Yidaki (didgeridoo) performances, and a smoking ceremony.

Together, these experiences highlighted the deep and enduring connection Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and First Nations peoples have to the land, waters and skies.

The morning also celebrated local First Nations artists, makers and businesses, with stalls showcasing handmade artwork, stationery, clothing and jewellery.

Thank you to the Wathaurong Aboriginal Co Op for hosting such a meaningful community event. It was a valuable opportunity to listen, learn and reflect on the importance of recognising and celebrating First Nations cultures, histories and contributions.

Earlier this month, a group of GeelongPort employees volunteered at Ocean Mind Incorporated’s End of Season barbeque in Anglesea, helping celebrate the achievements of participants from the 2025/26 season.

A GeelongPort community partner since 2018, Ocean Mind is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers therapeutic surfing programs for young people experiencing mental health challenges or social isolation.

On a chilly day at Anglesea Beach, Philip Little, Michelle Philbey, Rohith Kallem and Jenna Handreck kept participants, families and mentors warm with toasted sandwiches and snacks as they wrapped up their final session in the water.

The annual event offers participants and their families an opportunity to reflect on the season, celebrate their achievements and connect with the Ocean Mind community.

In celebration of World Environment Day, DjilangPort welcomed City of Greater Geelong Senior Sustainability Officer, Peter Mercouriou, to share the City’s climate action agenda and bold vision to achieve net zero community emissions by 2035.

The session highlighted how integrated planning, sustainability standards and practical community initiatives are helping drive both emissions reduction and climate resilience across Greater Geelong.

Topics included planning reforms, nature-based solutions, the increasing impacts and costs of climate risks, innovative community initiatives and how we can reduce corporate emissions.
Peter’s presentation was a strong reminder that climate action is not only about reducing emissions, but also building healthier, more resilient and future-ready communities, and we thank Peter for sharing his time and knowledge with DjilangPort.

Each year, DjilangPort marks National Reconciliation Week through a program of learning and reflection, encouraging our team members to consider how they can contribute to reconciliation in practical ways.

As part of this year’s program, we hosted a fireside chat with Vice-President of the Collingwood Football Club and proud Djab Wurrung and Gunditjmara woman, Jodie Sizer, sparking an honest and impactful conversation on racism, leadership and belonging.

Drawing on her leadership in driving anti-racism reform in elite sport, including co-chairing the club’s Anti-Racism Expert Committee and overseeing the commissioning of the Do Better Report, Jodie shared powerful reflections on accountability, the importance of listening and what it takes to lead cultural change with courage and integrity.

Jodie’s insight left a strong impression on our team, prompting meaningful reflection on our own roles in driving change. We sincerely thank Jodie for sharing her time and knowledge with us.

A standout moment was the unveiling of this year’s Indigenous jumper - a powerful blend of culture, creativity and community, designed by Dream Hoysted, a talented Northern Bay P-12 College student through the Hansen “Rocky” Couzens Scholarship for Indigenous Art.

Just minutes from the port, the Seagulls continue to strengthen the north, supporting sport, shaping young people and strengthening social connection.

Spirit of Tasmania V is now on Australian shores! 🚢

The vessel has departed Fremantle after completing its required stop, including import formalities, a crew change, refuelling, and restocking. It’s now on its way to Geelong and due to arrive this weekend.

Upon arrival in Geelong, the ship will hold at anchor until our current vessel sails out, then dock to undergo further gantry testing. After testing, it will be berthed at Station Pier in Melbourne and then sail down to Hobart in June for the final fit-out of local content.

At dawn, ports are nearly always calm.
The water is still. The horizon softens.
And for a moment, time seems to hold its breath.
ANZAC Day is like that.

A quiet moment to pause and remember lives shaped by courage, bound by mateship and defined by sacrifice.

Lives given in service to others, and values carried forward long after.

Today, we remember the fallen.
We honour their sacrifice.
And we recognise all who continue to serve, preserving the legacy the ANZACs began.

Lest we forget.
