What just happened? Why did I react like that?โ€

These are useful questions to ask after an exchange that stayed with you. Perhaps you became defensive when someone questioned your decision, or agreed to something and later wondered why.

Much of what shapes our responses happens outside our immediate awareness, and getting curious about those responses helps us understand ourselves and the people we work with.

In my work with leaders, these moments of awareness often unlock wisdom. As we recognise a pattern, we gain more choice in how we respond and greater access to the wisdom we already carry.

Have you noticed a pattern in your own reactions at work?

Recently at Coast Studio, we welcomed Queensland Senator Malcolm Roberts for a podcast recording.

One of the things we love about having a studio is creating a space where people can sit down, have a conversation and share their message โ€” from business and community leaders to educators, organisations, podcasters and people with an idea they want to put into the world.

You bring the conversation. We'll look after the tech stuff: cameras, lighting, sound and production.

If you have something to say, Coast Studio is here to help you record it.

Last week I had the opportunity to be one of the speaker at the first Member Spotlight speaker at Central Coast SBNG - business networking.

The room was packed with 38 people, and I was so happy to see so many friends, colleagues, clients, and supporters come along. And I loved it, that people didn't just come to support me โ€” they stayed, connected, and built new relationships with others.

A big shout out to the SBNG committee for creating such a welcoming and relaxed space for local business owners to network and support one another.

I spoke about authentic video storytelling and how businesses can use video to build trust, increase visibility, and create meaningful connections with their audience.

If you're a business owner on the Central Coast and looking for a friendly networking group, I'd definitely encourage you to check out SBNG. It's a great bunch of people and a really welcoming environment.

Thanks again to everyone who came along and made the morning such a great event.
