It was a delight to work with my cousin, Adrian, on a funeral this week - he was the funeral director, and I was the celebrant.

Yesterday, I had the honour of being the funeral celebrant for the late Mr Jan Klucznik. A man that not only left an impression in life with a glint in his eyes, mischievous smile and hardworking and loyal ways, but also in death.

With a cortège of hot rods and guard of honour by friends and members of the West Coast Street Rod Car Club it was a befitting start to a warm and beautiful service that celebrated Jan, and supported his family and friends at a difficult time.

Aa we reflected on yesterday, life, in many ways, is like a hot rod.

Today, on our national day of remembrance,
I think of and give thanks to the service and sacrifices of members of the armed forces, their families and service animals.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and In the morning
We will remember them.

One day, may we live in a world of peace.
