Six years. That’s no small innings.

Today we’re celebrating Hamish McLean, our Telco Management Team Leader, and someone who’s made a serious dent in the telco world over the past six years.

Telco management is complex, messy, and if you don’t stay on top of it, it can quietly cost organisations millions.

Lucky for our NFP clients, Hamish uses his deep telco know-how to unlock significant client savings, access $1M+ in tech funds each year and hold vendors to account.

If you’ve worked with him, you’ll know his approach: be clear, present the case properly, and stick with it. Persistent. Focused. A proper Dog with a Bone.

Hamish, thanks for six years of leadership, persistence and steady hands. We’re lucky to have you.

For more than a decade, we’ve supported St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria in managing their telecommunications → helping them stay connected, efficient, and focused on what matters most: serving the community.

Through our Telco Management Service, we help Vinnies Victoria :
→ Monitor and analyse telco usage
→ Optimise plans and reduce costs
→ Less telco admin, more time for IT innovation

The Society’s proactive approach to efficiency means more time and funding for their mission — and we’re proud to play a part in that.

Here’s to 10+ years of partnership built on purpose and continuing impact.

When you’ve got a workforce spread right across Victoria — thousands of mobile devices, hundreds of sites, and a team that’s always on the go — staying connected isn’t a “nice to have,” it’s essential.

That’s where our ongoing work with Anglicare Victoria comes in.

For nearly a decade, we’ve been helping their team stay connected and keep costs in check, so they can focus on what really matters — supporting children, young people and families doing it tough.

Here’s how we help keep things running smoothly:

→ Ongoing telco management across mobile and fixed services
→ Cyclical contract reviews and better deals from telco vendors
→ Mobile hardware procurement to keep their team connected

Anglicare Victoria is a not-for-profit helping people overcome challenges and reach their full potential. We’re proud to do our bit behind the scenes so their teams can keep changing lives.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 12 months since Amy Annetts joined the Dog and Bone crew.

To mark the milestone, we asked Amy a few questions to reflect on her first 12 months with the team.

Here’s what she had to say 👇

→ A Highlight for Amy?
Being a brand custodian for an organisation that truly walks the talk when it comes to purpose, impact and ethics. From our B Corp certification and pro bono Impact Program to our annual Impact Report — which reflects how we measure our impact and ongoing commitment — it’s rewarding to see the difference we’re making, not just in the sectors we serve, but in how we choose to do business every day.

→Turning impact into stories:
As our chief content creator, Amy turns client outcomes into stories of positive impact — across the disability, aged care, education, health sectors and beyond. She says the best part of the job is learning about the incredible organisations doing good in the world and sharing our collective stories of working together to create meaningful change.

→ The journey so far:
Even with 25+ years of marketing experience, Amy says the past year has been a wonderful learning curve. She’s grateful to be part of such a talented, supportive, and purpose-driven team who collaborate beautifully to create meaningful change.

→ Outside of work:
When she’s not crafting content, Amy is a busy mum of two sporty teens, a red-dirt enthusiast who loves camping in the Australian outback, and devoted human to Billie, the family’s much-loved three-year-old Cavador (who her kids insist is the true favourite 🐶).

We’re so lucky to have Amy as part of the Dog and Bone family — here’s to another year of storytelling, impact, and adventure.

Stretching telco dollars means more support for families.

That’s exactly what Goulburn Valley FamilyCare set out to do when they asked us to review their telco spend. They’re determined to make the most of every resource so they can keep delivering for their community.

Our analysts put their specialist tools to work — the kind of work we do every day — and uncovered ways to halve their telco costs.

And it doesn’t stop there. Through our telco management service, we’re keeping a close eye on their bills so they can have confidence they’re only paying for what they actually need.

For Goulburn Valley FamilyCare, that means more dollars going back into the programs and services that really count.

It’s a privilege to partner with organisations who are proactive, practical, and committed to doing everything they can for the people they serve.

Strong communities deserve strong digital foundations.

We’re excited to be working with Alkira , an organisation that has been supporting people with intellectual disabilities in Melbourne’s east for over 70 years.

Our role is to develop a >>future-ready ICT roadmap – a fit-for-purpose digital architecture and operating model that will empower Alkira’s team well into the future.

With deep experience in the not-for-profit sector, we’ll ensure the roadmap is practical, sustainable AND outcome-focused – giving Alkira the confidence that their technology aligns with their mission and the people they serve.

💪Here’s to tech that empowers people.

Sometimes the biggest impact comes from the smallest places.

A core pillar of Dog and Bone is supporting grassroots initiatives where our support can go a long way. It’s part of how we choose to do business — making a difference not just through our day-to-day work, but also by backing communities who need support.

>>One of those projects is happening right now on a remote island in Vanuatu.

In 2019, we funded building supplies for a new health clinic — the Saika AidPost — on Gaua Island. It’s part of a community-led effort by a micro-charity called Leftemap, who’ve been building health infrastructure with local communities across Vanuatu since 2012.

Once complete, it will provide life-changing healthcare right where it's needed — so locals don’t have to travel for hours or paddle across water just to see a nurse, dress a wound or get access to basic health care that without it, can lead to bigger health issues down the track.

It’s not just a building — it’s a stepping stone to better infrastructure, stronger communities, and lasting health outcomes.

Since the foundations were laid, the project’s faced more than its fair share of challenges — from COVID, to grounded flights, to the everyday logistical hurdles of building somewhere with no roads, limited phone reception, and no hardware store around the corner.

But in May this year, after a five-year gap, the Leftemap team made it back to Gaua. This long-awaited aid post is now becoming a reality.

A huge shout-out to the changemakers behind Leftemap — Paul and Jenny — who have been volunteering their time and skills in Vanuatu for over a decade. Their passion and grit inspire us, and we’re proud to play a role in helping them make this happen.

We’ll keep you posted as the next phase unfolds. 💪🏽🌴
