Dear clients....when markets are up 71% of the time, that means they go down 29% of the time. Once again markets have voiced their concerns about uncertainty. Regardless of the outcome of the tariff actions, markets will find a level and move forward from there. The recent falls remind us that diversification is the golden rule, many of you have investments across all asset classes and then there is more diversification within those assets. We have seen bonds rally and asian markets fall far less so its important to stay diversified. The next rule is to stay disciplined, dont lose your head while everyone else is losing theirs. Markets will ultimately transfer wealth from the impatient investor, to the patient investor.

Global markets hit an all time high just 8 short weeks ago, we are now back to levels seen around mid 2024 so this is hardly the end of the world. We would encourage you to focus on the long term, remain confident in your strategies and always refer back to rule number one when in doubt.

James and I will have more to say in coming days and we are intrigued about how this disruption to the norm will play out.

One thing is for sure, Donald Trump is not a same same politician. He said he was going to introduce tariffs and he has done it. Lets see how it plays out from here and hopefully it will lead to better outcomes for all of us in time.
